Aluminium Sliding & Patio Doors: Maximum Glass, Minimum Frame
A sliding door gives you something a bifold can’t: one huge pane of glass with almost nothing interrupting the view. Close it and the garden is a picture. Open it and a panel three metres wide glides aside with one hand.

We fit some of the slimmest aluminium sliding systems on the UK market, Cortizo Cor Vision and Cor Vision Plus, Cortizo 4700 and 4900 lift-and-slide, and the Sheerline multi-track patio, supplied and fitted by our own installers across Glasgow, Stirling and Scotland. See them in either showroom.
The biggest view you can fit in a wall
The biggest view
Very large panels with a slim central junction, so the frame all but disappears. When closed, it’s a wall of glass.
No stacking
Unlike bifolds, sliding panels don’t fold into the room or against the wall, ideal for smaller gardens, terraces and patios where space is tight.
Effortless to operate
Lift-and-slide gearing raises the panel off its seal and glides it on rollers; one hand moves even a very large, heavy panel.

Thermally broken
A polyamide break stops cold bridging, so modern aluminium sliders are warm enough for a Scottish winter and meet building regulations comfortably.
Secure by design
Multi-point locking, anti-lift devices and PAS 24 tested systems. A modern aluminium slider is far more secure than the old uPVC patio door it often replaces.

The systems we fit
Cortizo Cor Vision and Cor Vision Plus: the system most UK architects specify when they want minimal frames. Cor Vision Plus slims the central junction further and takes larger panels.
Cortizo 4700 and 4900 lift-and-slide: heavier-duty lift-and-slide systems for very large openings and triple glazing, where the lift-and-slide action makes big panels easy to move and seals tightly when closed. The 4900 HI is the high-insulation version for exposed sites and Passivhaus-style builds.
Sheerline multi-track patio: Sheerline’s slim lift-and-slide patio door, with Thermlock® insulation and available in matching colours to Sheerline windows, bifolds and the S1 roof lantern. The natural choice where the rest of the project is Sheerline.
Our Glasgow showroom has a Sheerline lift and slide door on display, so you can feel how easily a large panel moves. The team at both showrooms can talk you through the Cortizo options.

Aluminium sliding door cost in Scotland
Price depends on the width and height of the opening, the number of panels, the system, glazing and colour. Cor Vision Plus and lift-and-slide systems with very large panels are at the premium end; a two-panel Cor Vision or Sheerline patio door is the most affordable route to the slim-frame look.
Aluminium sliding doors start from £4,500, fully fitted, including VAT. We give you one fair, fixed price after a free home survey. No countdown discounts, no pressure.
Sliding or bifold?
Choose sliding for the biggest uninterrupted view and where you don’t want panels stacking in the room. Choose bifolds if you want to open the entire width of the wall. See our aluminium bifold doors →, and many customers pair either with a roof lantern → overhead.
One system, one look
We don’t mix systems on a project. Sheerline windows, doors, bifolds, patio doors and the S1 roof lantern share one profile family and one colour run; Cortizo windows, bifolds and sliders share another. Choose one brand for the whole extension and every frame matches edge to edge, no discrepancies in shape, sightline or shade. Handles and hardware are matched too, from the ERA and Fab&Fix ranges we fit across every product.
See a lift and slide door in person
Our Glasgow showroom has a Sheerline lift and slide door on live display. Lift the handle, move a full-size panel with one hand, and see the slim frames for yourself.
Stirling doesn’t have a sliding door on display, but the team can show you the Sheerline and Cortizo aluminium ranges and colour options.

Stirling showroom →Your questions answered
What’s the difference between a sliding door and a lift-and-slide door?
A standard slider rolls along its track on a continuous seal. A lift-and-slide door lifts the panel a few millimetres off the seal when you turn the handle, then drops it back down to seal tightly when closed. Lift-and-slide is smoother for very large, heavy panels and seals better against wind and rain.
How big can a single panel be?
Very large. The exact maximum depends on the system and the glazing, and we confirm it at the survey. Beyond that we’d combine sliding panels with fixed glazing.
Are aluminium sliding doors secure?
Yes. Multi-point locks, anti-lift blocks and PAS 24 testing, considerably more secure than the older uPVC patio doors many homes still have.
Cortizo or Sheerline?
Cortizo offers very slim frames and large panel sizes. Sheerline matches the rest of a Sheerline project exactly. Try the Sheerline lift and slide in our Glasgow showroom and the team will help you decide.
Do you fit sliding doors outside Glasgow and Stirling?
Yes, across Scotland including Falkirk, Lanarkshire, Dunbartonshire, Renfrewshire and Perthshire.
