Crittall-Style & Heritage Doors: The Steel Look, Without the Steel
Slim black frames, small panes, the industrial look of old Crittall steelwork, in modern thermally efficient aluminium. Whether you want to zone an open-plan kitchen with a glazed screen, put a steel-look door on a home office, or fit a heritage-style front or garden door, we have two ranges that do it properly.
Cortizo Design 35 for internal doors and screens. Sheerline Heritage for doors that work inside or on the outside wall. Both fitted by our own team across Glasgow, Stirling and Scotland, with a Crittall-style steel-look door on display in our Glasgow showroom.

Where the steel look works
- Kitchen-to-living-room screens in open-plan homes and extensions
- Home office and study doors, with the light kept flowing through the house
- Tenement and townhouse hallways, as a glazed vestibule door
- Warehouse, mill and loft conversions: Merchant City, Finnieston, Stirling’s riverside
- 1930s and Art Deco homes, where the original doors were steel
- Garden and front doors on contemporary and period properties alike (Sheerline Heritage)

Getting the details right
- Glazing bars: slim bars in the correct proportion, laid out to match an original grid or to a design of your own
- Matt finishes: matt black or anthracite reads as steel; gloss doesn’t
- Slender handles: period-style or slim contemporary levers in black, brass-tone or stainless
- Glass: clear as standard; reeded, fluted and obscure glass are popular for bathrooms and internal screens; toughened safety glass throughout
- Made to measure: full-height screens, sidelights and toplights
- Integrated blinds in double-glazed external doors
What do Crittall-style doors cost in Scotland?
Every steel-look door and screen is made to measure, and the price depends on the size, the number of panes and bars, the glass and whether it’s internal or external. Genuine steel doors cost considerably more; steel-look aluminium gives you the proportions for much less, with no rust and no repainting.
We give you one fair, fixed price after a free home survey. No countdown discounts, no pressure.

Stirling showroom →Your questions answered
What’s the difference between the two ranges?
Cortizo Design 35 is internal only, for zoning a room or dividing an office. Sheerline Heritage is built for internal or external use, so it’s the one for a front or garden door with the same steel-look detailing.
Is this actual Crittall?
No. Crittall is a brand of steel window and door. These are aluminium systems that recreate the look, with modern thermal performance and no rust.
Can I have a different colour inside and out?
Yes, on both ranges, as a standard option.
How long is the lead time?
It depends on the range, the size and the finish. We’ll confirm the lead time for your door or screen at the survey, before you commit to anything.
Do you fit as well as supply?
Yes. The same in-house team that fits our windows and doors installs both ranges.
Do you fit steel-look doors outside Glasgow and Stirling?
Yes, across Scotland including Falkirk, Lanarkshire, Dunbartonshire, Renfrewshire and Perthshire.
