We fit composite doors from three of the country’s best manufacturers, Solidor, Portico and Hurst, so you’re choosing from hundreds of styles and colours rather than one catalogue. Every door comes with an Ultion cylinder as standard, sits in a VEKA Halo frame to match your windows, and is fitted by our own installers across Glasgow, Stirling and Scotland.

Every composite door we fit is hung in a VEKA Halo frame, the same profile and colour as our VEKA windows, with ERA and Fab&Fix hardware to match. No mismatched white, no different profile next to the window.

A composite door is far more thermally efficient than a timber door, with U-values of 1.4 or better and a full compression seal.
Security by design
A solid or foam-filled core, a multi-point lock and an Ultion cylinder, anti-snap, anti-pick, anti-drill, with a lockdown mode that engages if the lock is attacked. PAS 24 tested and Secured by Design options.
Three manufacturers, hundreds of styles
Solidor: the premium choice. A 48mm solid timber core, the Traditional and Italia collections, 27 colours with dual colour inside and out, and Ultion fitted as standard by the factory. Made in Stoke-on-Trent.
Portico: British-made with one of the widest style ranges in the UK: Original, Cottage, Contemporary, Urban and Stable collections, over 30 slab designs, any RAL colour. Our go-to for stable doors.
Hurst: made in Yorkshire, with up to 1,600 RAL colours across the Classic, Cottage, Contemporary and Designer collections, plus the solid-core S-Class at the top of the range.

Colours, glass and hardware
- Colours: from classic black, white and Chartwell green to anthracite, navy, red and any RAL colour; different colours inside and out
- Glass: clear, obscure, decorative leaded and bevelled designs, coloured glass, and fire-rated glazing where needed
- Etched glass: have your house name or number etched into the glass, or a pattern of your choice, so the door is personal to your home
- Hardware: lever, pull and knocker sets, letterplates and hinges from ERA and Fab&Fix in chrome, black, gold, graphite and more, matching your window handles
- Locks: Ultion cylinder as standard, with Ultion KeyTag so you can find your keys with Apple Find My
- Thresholds: standard and low thresholds
Sidelights, toplights and frames
Most composite doors are sold with a frame and one or two sidelights. We make these in the same VEKA Halo profile as your windows, in matching colour, with the same glass options. Arched-head frames and shaped toplights are made to measure. On a porch or vestibule we’ll fit the inner and outer doors to match.
What does a composite door cost in Scotland?
Price depends on the manufacturer, the style, the colour, the glass and whether you’re adding sidelights. Solidor sits at the premium end; Portico and Hurst give you more choice at a range of price points.
Composite doors start from £1,450 fully fitted, including VAT, and the average door we fit currently comes to £1,879. That average is a real figure from our recent installations, not a marketing number, so it’s a fair guide to what a typical door with your choice of colour and glass will cost. Your questions answered
Solidor, Portico or Hurst, which should I choose?
Solidor if you want the solid timber core and the most premium feel. Portico if you want the widest style choice or a stable door. Hurst if colour is the priority or you want the S-Class solid core at a keener price. See all three in the showroom.
What is an Ultion lock?
Ultion is a high-security cylinder that resists snapping, picking, drilling and bumping, and locks itself down if attacked. It’s fitted as standard on every composite door we install.
Can I have my house number in the glass?
Yes. We offer etched glass, so your house name or number, or a design of your choice, can be etched into the door glass or a sidelight.
Will the door match my windows?
Yes. The frame is VEKA Halo, the same as our windows, in the same colour, and the handles are from the same ERA and Fab&Fix ranges.
Can I have a composite door on a flat?
Yes. If the door opens onto a shared stair it will need to be fire rated; see our fire doors page.
How long does fitting take?
Usually half a day. Our own installers fit every door, no subcontractors.
Do you fit composite doors outside Glasgow and Stirling?
