Bay Windows Stirling: Replaced Properly, Structure Included
Stirling’s bay windows come in two kinds: the tall Victorian bays of King’s Park, Bridge of Allan and Dunblane, and the three-pane bays on the 1930s and post-war homes of Causewayhead, Cornton and Alloa. Both carry more than their own weight, and both are exposed to weather that finds every weak join.

We replace bays with the structure done properly: our own surveyors check whether the bay carries the wall above, reinforced bay poles and jacks are sized for the load, a welded cill gives one continuous line, and the bay roof can be replaced and insulated at the same time. Fitted by our own team from Springkerse.
Built for Stirling homes
Victorian villas. King’s Park, Bridge of Allan, Dunblane, Callander: sash and case bays with original proportions and deep reveals; see sash and case windows in Stirling for the window itself. Mechanically jointed frames for conservation areas.
1930s and post-war homes. Causewayhead, Cornton, Broomridge, Alloa, Falkirk: casement or flush sash bays, often load-bearing, with a small bay roof we can replace.
Exposed sites. A bay catches the weather from three sides. Triple glazing for £90 per window and a properly sealed welded cill make a real difference on the Carse and in the hills.
Conservation areas. The Old Town, Bridge of Allan and Dunblane have rules on bays; we’ll advise before you apply.

Your questions answered
Does my bay support the wall above?
On most Victorian villas and 1930s homes, yes. Our surveyor checks and specifies reinforced poles and jacks.
Can you replace the bay roof?
Yes, and insulate it; it’s often the biggest source of heat loss in a bay-fronted room.
Can I keep the sash and case look on a Victorian bay?
Yes, with VEKA vertical sliders, welded or mechanically jointed, in the same proportions as the originals.
Why do windows get condensation, and will new windows stop it?
Condensation forms when warm, moist indoor air meets a cold surface. New A-rated windows are much warmer on the inside so it drops dramatically, but because they’re also far more airtight, moisture that used to leak out now stays in the house. Ventilation fixes it: trickle vents, extractor fans and airing rooms briefly each day. Condensation on the outside of new glass on a cold morning is a good sign; between the panes means a failed sealed unit, which is covered by guarantee.
Do you cover outside Stirling?
Yes. Stirlingshire, Clackmannanshire and the Forth Valley, and across Scotland by arrangement.
